# KROMAA

> KROMAA is a French painter emerging on the international contemporary art scene, based in Mauritius. A qualified notary, she felt painting take hold of her as a deep need. She creates Les Nours, teddy bears painted on original large-format canvases in spray paint, acrylic and charcoal, conceived as a private journal, between memory and childhood. Her Nours are the silent guardians of her story; battered, colourful, mended, they echo the teddy bears of our childhoods, reflections of ourselves and silent guardians of everyone's story. Her signature, at once raw and infinitely tender, gives her a singular place in contemporary art: an art of emotion and tenderness that strikes straight to the heart. ## The artist

Originally from the Hérault in southern France, she first worked in the rigorous world of notarial law; a qualified notary, she practised with the same intensity, the same passion and the same heart she puts into everything she does, before life carried her from Saint Martin in the Caribbean to Mauritius, where the spark came. When the time came to name her characters, the word came to KROMAA with the force of something self-evident, and she discovered only later that it was precisely the word she used as a little girl for her childhood companions. For KROMAA, the Nours are a reflection of ourselves and the anchors of who we have become, battered, colourful and mended, the silent guardians of our story. Between the scent of spray paint, the thickness of acrylic and the depth of charcoal, KROMAA's signature is at once raw and infinitely tender: an art that is not content to be merely conceptual, but strikes straight to the heart.
